I don't have time to write a full trip report, so I'll make it short and sweet.
Mom wanted to do a 14er so I was wanting something that would be doable for her and something that I havn't done. And it would be nice for it to be somewhat near Estes. So I decided on Bierstadt via beautiful Guanella Pass. This mountain is a great one for a first 14er. It rises to a lofty 14,060 feet and the trail is beautiful.
We were also able to bring Daisy which was an added treat. Mom had an amazing time, was challenged to her limit, and did a wonderful job of pushing herself up the steppening slopes to her first time above 14,000 feet!
It was a fantastic day and a great summit. A day that I will remember forever! What better way to spend my birthday!
